“WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF TOMORROW!”

"Shut up, Terry." –Futurama

Though I am an avid fan of Futurama, I know that getting to the future we imagine in shows like that is more difficult than can be portrayed in half an hour. I have worked hard in my research to tackle interesting problems that related directly toward making people’s lives better. I started graduate school in 2017 and immediately found an advisor that could guide me in research to accomplish my goals. My advisor, Monica Nicolescu, took me under her wing and has given me a place to explore Intent Recognition in social robotics. While working in the world of Intent Recognition I have gotten to explore so many interesting research topics in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Neural Networks, Calibration, and People Tracking. As I search for work in industry, I move forward remembering my true goal of helping people with the work I do.

Current Work

  1. Intent Recognition for use in Socially Aware Robotics.
  2. Computer Vision for human pose detection.
  3. Minimalistic Convolutional Neural Networks.
  4. Adaptive Reinforcement Learning.

Recently Published

  1. Simple Camera-to-2D-LiDAR Calibration Method for General Use (October 2020 ISVC)
  2. Person Profiles and Sensor Calibration for Intent Recognition in Socially Aware Navigation (May 2020)
  3. Learning of Complex-Structured Tasks from Verbal Instruction (October 2019 Humanoids)
  4. Perception of Social Intelligence in Robots Performing False-Belief Tasks (October 2019 RO-MAN)

Thank you for taking an interest in my research.
